Executive CAOAC Meeting

Item 1: Internal Problem Jeopardising SCAAS
CAOAC was approached for urgent guidance regarding serious issues that unexpectedly emerged at the SCASS club, as reported by its remaining Executive. These concerns involved financial management, questionable financial reporting, and decision-making protocols, along with recent executive resignations. Both the Treasurer and President—key members involved in these matters—refused to cooperate with requests for explanations and resigned upon the emergence of these issues.
Furthermore, outstanding liabilities were identified, alongside sudden difficulties in accessing the website and discrepancies regarding several unaccounted physical assets belonging to the club. These circumstances placed the club’s future in significant jeopardy.
CAOAC agreed to several in-person meetings with the SCAAS Executive to review all the details, consult third party experts, letter writing efforts and to set up an action plan to help the Club and membership move forward which would culminate in a full accounting to the SCAAS membership with CAOAC officers present. Advice was given on how to deal with the website which was no longer accessible and an approach to recover unaccounted for physical assets.
The Executive acknowledged the necessity of providing guidance to all clubs on safeguarding against such situations, emphasising the importance of this support once the current crisis has been resolved.
